And Now for Some Good News!

I’m taking a short break from the news on Ukraine to share with you some really good news today!

This past Sunday 8 people publicly confessed their faith in Jesus and were baptized in our home church, Discovery Baptist!
naomi and mish
Among those baptized were our two oldest children, Naomi and Mishael. I had the privilege of personally baptizing both of them.

As a parent there are many things I’d like to see happen in my children’s life. I’d like to see them do well in school, get a good job, find a great spouse and produce a few grandchildren, but a strong faith in Jesus is by far the greatest desire that Both Christina and I have for our children.

Check out Mishael’s testimony above! I’m so thankful that he had such a strong desire to be baptized. I even tried to discourage him a little but he was determined that this was the right thing to do! Mishael is also a great evangelists. In Ukraine he often tells his friends about Jesus and brings them along with him to church and Sunday School.

Naomi is growing up quickly! She is already thinking about college and possibly missions. We appreciate her kind heart and helpfulness around the home. She has also taken an active part in youth group in Ukraine and has helped conduct English club outreach at our church.

Naomi also writes a blog called Lovely Lavender Patch.

Coming up

This Sunday we will be doing a special presentation about Ukraine at First Baptist Church in Kirkland, Washington. If you’re near please come and join us.

Congratulations Naomi and Mishael on your baptisms! You, Mishael, were featured on my blog a few weeks ago. It’s great to see where you were then to where you are now. Congratulations to you, too, Caleb.

That’s right Thomas, Mishael had cancer 10 years ago! So nice to see him alive and living for the Lord!

There is no greater joy than to see your children decide to follow Christ. Congrats. My wife and I had the opportunity to baptize our kids four years ago. What a blessing!

Congratulations, Mishael and Naomi! I’ve been trying to get the video to play but it’s not working on my computer. It may just be my slow Internet. But I think it’s really cool that you guys did videos! I’ll have to check back later! Ah, I spoke too soon. The video just started playing. 🙂 Mishael, I like that your favorite preacher is either your dad or your grandpa. Naomi, that’s cool that you want to be a missionary. Really enjoyed your videos, you two!

I’m grateful that I had godly parents to direct me and now my kids have two generations before them to look to as their example. What a blessing!
