Why “The Gospel Today?”

By No tags 0

As we begin the 2020 I want to let you know about a new name for this page and for the podcast.

THE GOSPEL TODAY

I decided to change the name to more accurately reflect the topics I focus on both in the podcast and on the blog and this Facebook page. Below is a short explanation of why I chose to rebrand and update the name.
THE GOSPEL:This is what I talk about because it is the core of what we believe, how we behave, and where we are going. The GOSPEL is good news, it tells us that Jesus, came, lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and rose on the third day conquering sin death. The GOSPEL gives us hope that we can live with God forever after death. The Gospel also gives us truths to live by, it gives us a foundation for making decisions that please God, it changes our hearts and minds and brings them into submission to God’s will. The GOSPEL changes our families, our marriages, our friendships, our work, and our entertainment. A GOSPEL centered life is a life lived in obedience to God’s Word, by the power of the Holy Spirit, for the glory of Christ.

TODAY

Many look at the Gospel as nothing more than a tradition of yesterday. They don’t see it’s practicality, they don’t recognize it’s application now. Others see the Gospel as only for tomorrow, they see it as nothing more than a ticket to heaven. We, however, must see the Gospel as actual and relevant for us TODAY. The Gospel does give us hope for tomorrow but it can’t do that without changing us TODAY. Modern culture is at war with the Gospel and its challenges are always changing a new. Thus, must know how to answer these new Gospel challenges that we face TODAY. How can we effectively communicate the Gospel in TODAY’S culture and with TODAY’S unique challenges?
