After communion they asked me to preach. The church is in the process of building and so far they have only the basement finished. Thus the church meets in the basement. They have a small wood stove they use to heat with. It works ok, but it can make it a little hazy in the auditorium and once you pack 170+ people in it can get quite stuffy!
About 5 minutes into my sermon I noticed about half a dozen guys scuffling around towards the back. I tried to keep preaching, but soon half of the crowd had turned around to watch. I asked Christina if I should stop, but she said, “keep preaching”.
At that point I had almost completely lost my train of thought and I had surely lost any momentum that I might have had. The whole crowd had turned to see about 6 men carrying a Babushka (old women) out of the building. At that moment the pastor stood up and said, “lets pray for her” The congergation stood and the pastor said a short prayer. Then everyone sat back down and I tried my best to pick of where I left off.
