Did you know that up to 30% of students who get accepted into universities or colleges never show up in the Fall? Can you imagine applying and getting accepted to Harvard and then just not showing up but instead framing your acceptance letter and hanging it on the wall. When guest come over they would look and ask,
“so it looks like you went to Harvard?”
And your reply would be,
“No, but I did get accepted there.”
Or what if you applied for a job showing them the acceptance letters from several prestigious schools? It sounds ridiculous doesn’t it?
It seems pointless to us for someone to get accepted into a university and then not go there but that is exactly what happens when we make the mistake of doing evangelism without discipleship.
Mat 28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And, remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
