Left with Nothing Residences Flee Debaltseve Ukraine -Video

Left with no power, no water and almost no way out, residence of Debaltseve, Ukraine are desperately trying to flee the encroaching fighting.

This video helps give a little understanding to the horrific reality of those who live near the fighting in Eastern, Ukraine. Some are able to leave and some aren’t.

Those left behind are forced to live like rats in the basements of buildings, lit only by a few precious candles. Water must be brought in on trucks or ladled from a puddle. When there is a brief intermission in the shelling they emerge to find bread or whatever else they can find on the nearly empty shelves of their local store.

At this point it’s better to get out but that doesn’t mean all your problems are solved, not by a long shot! Those who are able to get out are immediately face with other problems.

• Where to live?
• What school will their children go to?
• How long will they be there?
• How will the feed themselves?
• What will happen to those they left behind?

I don’t believe we are in the tribulation now but these events seem to foreshadow what is to come. As I watched this video and listened to the voices of those trying to escape the destruction of war it reminded me of Jesus words.

…then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. Anyone who’s on the housetop must not come down to get what is in his house, and anyone who’s in the field must not turn back to get his coat. “How terrible it will be for women who are pregnant or who are nursing babies in those days! Pray that it may not be in winter or on a Sabbath when you flee, because at that time there will be great suffering, the kind that has not happened from the beginning of the world until now and certainly will never happen again. If those days had not been limited, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be limited.
(Mat 24:16-22)

I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch the video in this post and afterward to say a prayer for these people. Two prayer requests come to my mind.

• Pray that God would cut these days short for Ukraine!
• Pray for the elect who are caught in the middle of this fighting!
