Mrs Treat

One of the churches here, in the Boise area, set us up with housing. We usually figure we will be staying with a family when we make trips like this. However, when we rolled into town they took us to a nice little single wide mobile home. No one was living in it but there were still a few pieces of furniture and a bed for the kids. The church provided an air bed for Christina and I. It is quite nice to be able to have the space to let the kids run around a little and not worry about bothering our host.

They said that an old lady owned the place, but she moved out a few months ago to an assited living home. We had some free time today so we thought we should take the oppurtunity to visit her. We found out her name is Mrs. Treat. The kids were intrigued enough by her name to be interested in meeting her. When we got to the assisted living home, we found her in the dining room finishing her lunch. She greeted us happily and took us to her room, where we could talk a little easier.

(Just a side note here, if you have never visited a retirement home with little children, it is quite an experience. There is something about bringing a 6 year old, a 3 year old and a round little one year old into a room filled with octongenarians. You certainly don’t go unnoticed. 🙂 )

Well we had a good time visiting with Mrs. Treat. Unfortunately her family is spread out all across the West Coast, so she doesn’t get too many visitors. She is also very hard of hearing and her sight is very poor. That makes conversation a little hard, especially if there is any noise in the background. Nevertheless, were glad to be able to visit with her a little and give her some Ukrainian chocolates. Please pray for Mrs. Treat as she tries to make the adjustment from living on her own to where she is now.
