Recently our team of missionaries decided that we need to raise awareness of what is happening in Ukraine and to encourage people to pray. We created a facebook page called “God at Work in Ukraine” and we developed a 7 day prayer guide to help you effectively pray for Ukraine.
Download a pdf version for printing here.
Below is a portion of the text written by our team to encourage daily prayer for Ukraine and the 7 day prayer guide.
“As a team of missionaries who have been working with local churches in Ukraine for over 20 years, we are deeply concerned with the current events in Ukraine, however we know that even when politicians fail God is still able and God is still at work! That is why we are calling on Christians everywhere to pray for Ukraine!”
Monday
-Pray for the new government in Kyiv that they would have wisdom to know how deal a failing economy and with groups who oppose them in Eastern Ukraine.”
Tuesday
-Pray for churches, especially in Eastern Ukraine, that they would exhibit the love of Christ be an example of how Russians and Ukrainians can coexist!
Wednesday
-Pray for the Ukrainian people that there would be reconciliation and forgiveness between pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian groups.
Thursday
-Pray for families as they struggle to provide for basic needs because of a failing economy and high inflation.
Friday
-Pray for Ukrainian soldiers, as many have family and friends in Eastern Ukraine and Russia. Pray that there would be no bloodshed.
Saturday
-Pray for missionaries that God would give them wisdom to best know how to help their brothers and sisters in Christ during this critical time.
Sunday
-Pray for church leaders they would take every opportunity to proclaim the peace that Jesus offers and that they would not be limited in their freedoms to preach the gospel.
Please pray!

April 26, 2014We will be praying for peace to reign in the Ukraine between the two groups. We have been praying for all Christians to reach out to those around them with the Gospel message. It should not be limited to Pastors. We will be praying for both Ukraine and Russia that there may be peace between them.
Caleb
April 30, 2014Yes, we do need to pray for Russia in this whole thing too! Thanks for your prayers Maureen!

April 28, 2014I am busy and honestly don’t think I will remember to pray each day for these individual things. That leads me to a point. When people ask me to pray for something, I do the moment they ask. I think too many people say “I’ll pray for this or that or you,” but then just go on through their day and forget later. That’s why I say a prayer the moment I’m asked. So as I read your post, I prayed for each day immediately.
Caleb
April 30, 2014I try to do that too Dan, because if I say, “I’ll pray for you” the chances are that I’ll forget. Thanks for your immediate prayers!

May 4, 2014Yes, Caleb, I will be praying for Ukraine and your continued ministry there. I gave my Pastor a copy of your “7-Day Prayer Guide for Ukraine” and it was an insert in our church bulletin today (Central Valley Christian Fellowship). Thank you for your insightful posts. I learn a lot from them.
