Early this morning a bomb ripped a large hole in the side of a store here in Odessa that sells pro-Ukrianian clothing and other patriotic things.
The blast occurred literally down the street from one of our closets partner churches, Skiniya Church. Thankfully the bomb went off in the early morning hours when no one was around.
Things have been pretty quiet in Odessa since the riot that broke out earlier this year and resulted in 50 deaths in one day. Hopefully this bombing isn’t a sign of things to come.

December 4, 2014Praying for the people of Odessa today as I’m sure many are impacted by this threat. I thank God no one was killed in this bombing. He is our true Prince of Peace.

December 4, 2014Time here in OZ is 3.48am Friday morning and we’ve just been woken up by our little dog telling us she wants to take a short stroll in the garden – trouble here though she likes eating little frogs and we have many little ponds where they love to live amongst the flowers and pond weed. This provided me with the opportunity to check my mail box and find your email. Who would have ever thought when you first obeyed the Lord’s call upon your life you would be in Odessa to witness and experience such terrible events taking place in your life and that of your wife and children. Of course we will keep praying for you and when we read of this our prayers seem of greater urgency for you and yours and all the people of Ukraine impacted by these terrible events. May the Lord keep you all safe and peace will be returned to Odessa very soon.

God’s call it seems often takes us to places we least expected doesn’t it?
