Naomi was kind enough to share with us a little of what she wrote in her diary on Sunday. Below is a picture of Naomi and Noelle standing in front of the opera theater in downtown Odessa on Sunday.
The following was written by Naomi:
“Today is Sunday -church, I love church! Today we didn’t go to our usual church; we are in Makarovo where everybody is celebrating Thanksgiving for Ukrainians. Papa is preaching about how important it is to be thankful – a great topic for Thanksgiving, right? I recited a verse before Papa started preaching that goes like this:“
Мы сегодня славим Бога
За плоды земли.
Его милостей так много,
Даже в наши дни!
Когда голод устрашает
Жителей земли,
Бог своих не оставляет,
И хранит в пути.
Славьте Бога за спасенья
За Его дары.
Пусть взойдёт благодарения-
К небу от земли!
“Pretty cool poem, huh? A lot of peple are singing songs and reciting poems too -long ones! They must really respect this holiday, especially when there are five sermons to go!“
