Thank you for praying for our baptism. Our church gathered on the shore of the Black Sea at 8:30 on Sunday morning to watch 13 young people show their faith in Jesus through the act of baptism.
I had the joyful opportunity of baptizing several of the youth alongside two other pastors from our church. I don’t think there is any task more exciting than baptizing a person whose heart and life have been completely changed by the Holy Spirit!
After the baptism on the beach we headed back to church where I had the privilege of preaching to the newly baptized. I told them that now they have a responsibility to make disciples themselves.
We ended the celebration with a meal for the whole church served outside in our yard.
Please continue to pray for those who were baptized that they will grow in their faith. Our leadership recently decided that they will all go through the Navigators 2:7 discipleship course. This will be a great way for them to start growing and learning more from the Bible.
Did you catch it?
If you didn’t catch the last video update that Christina and I did you can find it here. Our schedule is filling up fast so please let us know!

August 20, 2013Thanks for sharing this joy with us Caleb. Unfortunately, I didn’t understand what the man said before. LOL Just a question: the white scarfs the girls wore. i take it that is a cultural thing? What does it mean?
Caleb
August 20, 2013Bill, I probably should have put the translation in the post, but here it is for you.
“Do you believe in the one true God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit?
Do you believe that Jesus Christ the Son of God is your Savior and Lord?
Do you believe that you are forgiven of your sins in His name?
Do you give God your promise to follow after Him all your life with a good conscience?
May His name be praised in your life, may God bless you, Amen!”
The scarfs are just tradition here, nothing theological just the way things are done.
If you look closely you can see me in the water. I’m the one baptizing on the far right.

August 20, 2013Returning your visit to my blog (Do you remember how you came upon it?); I prayed for you there before searching out your blog. This is a beautiful space, and I was blessed in watching your (“About”) video and reading, in particular, your post on making one’s wife more submissive. (I’ll admit I went in nervous but came out smiling!) I’m THRILLED to make your acquaintance and will absolutely add your family to the list of those for whom I pray regularly. Lately it seems as though the Lord has work for me to do in praying for missionaries! What does your family have planned for your 10 months in the U.S.?

August 21, 2013I think I came from the Saturday Shortcuts on http://www.plannedpeasanthood.com/

August 21, 2013Melanie, some of the people were just vacationers on the beach. We live in a vacation city so there are a lot of tourist here in the summers. The rest were mainly people from our church and family and friends of those getting baptized.
Caleb
August 21, 2013Yes, He did!
