Surprise Guests
We celebrate Christmas here on January 7th. This year my parents decided to surprise the grandkids by showing up unannounced on Christmas morning. As you can imagine our children were delighted to wake up and find Grandma and Grandpa at our place. The next day both my dad and I preached in the morning service at our church. I like to tell people that we preached a “duet”. I am very thankful that God gave me godly parents who continue to serve the Lord faithfully and provide me with a great example.
First Time Teaching This year I am doing something I’ve never done before, I’ll be teaching my first course at the Church Ministries Institute. Starting next month I will be team teaching Basic Theology. This course runs on Saturdays at our training center in Odessa. Later this Spring I will also be helping to teach our evangelism course, which includes the Good Soil training as part of the course.
Finding the Right Leadership After the passing of Pastor Peter my role as a leader in our church, Hope for People, has become more vital. Currently we are going through the process of choosing a few men for ordination. This is an important step for the church to make and we need your prayers. Our church is young so not only will be doing an ordination soon but we are also working through the task of setting up a working leadership structure. Both of these important steps take much time, prayer and work.
