Ministry in Moldova
My parents were here for about 10 days in August and we traveled together to visit their sister church in the village of Makarovo and I also took a trip with my father and father-in-law to Moldova to visit and evangelist there named Vasilly. I was very impressed with what is happening in and around the city of Faleshti, where Vasilly is ministering.
Vasilly started the church in Faleshti several years ago and now they are reaching out to the villages that surround the town. Currently Vasilly has active church plants in about 5 villages. He kept us busy and we visited 6 churches and spoke 7 times in just 48 hours!
I asked Vasilly “How can we help the ministry in this area?” We decided that a seminar on evangelism and discipleship would be a strategic way to help these new churches and young leaders. We are currently planning for this seminar in March of next year. Pray for wisdom and God’s leading as we plan this seminar.
Although Moldova is the poorest country in Europe, God is at work planting churches and saving people! That really shouldn’t surprise us should it?
Now here is what you can pray for in September:
- Baptism
This Sunday we will be going down to the Black Sea where we will baptize three people. Pray for those being baptized and pray for me as I preach.
- Wedding
Pray for Dima and Ivanka who will be married in our church on September 15th. When they asked me to do the wedding they said they wanted to do a simple outdoor wedding so they could make the wedding evangelistic and invite all the neighbors who live around the church. They wanted to know if I could preach an evangelistic sermon. Honestly, I couldn’t think if anything I’d rather do!
- Open House
On September 16th our institute is holding and open house. We are inviting all those who live in the surrounding area to come and see who we are. We will also invite them to join us for a chronological Bible study that we will start in October. The study is based on the Good Soil materials and is designed for unbelievers. Pray for us as we prepare for the open house and pray that God would bring people to us who want to know more about the Bible.
- A Big “THANK YOU”!
Christina and I want to express our gratitude for all who so generously support our family and ministry here in Ukraine! It is because of you that we are able to stay here and focus on strengthening churches and aiding church planters. If you would like to know how you can help us you can find more information here.
