Language, clothing, schooling, church… Everything you need to know about life in Odessa, Ukraine

This was a short video we made in February for one of our supporting churches, New Life in Woodbury,

This Sunday my father and I had the wonderful opportunity of preaching together in our church “Hope for People” here in Odessa.

On thing my parents wanted to do while they were in Ukraine was to visit the village of Tarutino. My father’s family came to the US from this village in 1905.

My parents and my brother arrived from Makarovo to Odessa yesterday. This morning my sister Rachel and her husband Mike and their little girl Ellie came down from Kiev.

On Saturday I drove north to Makarovo where I met my parents and my brother Nehemiah who were coming down from Kiev.

This Sunday we visited Pastor Igor in the village of Nechayenoe about and hour out of Odessa. Igor also works as a regional director for our institute in Southern Ukraine where we have 4 of our local Bible schools.

When we visited Christina’s parents in Cherkassy on Easter we left Noelle with them. She enjoyed being waited on hand and foot by her Ukrainian grandparents but after a month she was ready to come home.
